Tony Giles

BBus CA – Partner

Tony founded A M Giles & Co in 1989 after learning his trade with a number of “Big 8″ accounting firms. He has accumulated over 20 years of public accounting experience covering all areas of financial management.Tony is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australian Institute of Management and The Taxation Institute of Australia.Tony’s interests include horse racing, playing golf and watching AFL. Tony is the president of the Blues supporters club of Queensland – so there is no guessing which team has his undying support!

Matthew Kuhn

BCom CA – Partner

Upon completing his Bachelor of Commerce (Professional Accounting) degree at the University of Southern Queensland in June 1999, Matthew commenced his professional career with a medium-sized accounting firm in July of that year before moving to A M Giles & Co as a graduate accountant in February 2000.Matthew completed his professional studies, the CA Program, in December 2005. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a current Certificate of Public Practice issued by the Institute.Matthew’s clients benefit from his practical experience together with his commitment to maintaining his technical skills through continuing professional development which keeps him abreast of the ever-changing accounting and taxation environment.Matthew’s interests include playing golf, motor sports and fishing.

Michelle Cozzi

BCom CPA – Accountant

Michelle previously worked for a sole-practitioner firm for 9 years, starting as a bookkeeper and moving through to an accountant role. She studied her Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree part-time at Griffith University, completing same during 2007.Commencing her professional studies with CPA Australia in 2009, Michelle intends being fully qualified by the end of 2011. Michelle’s interests outside work include: V8s and cars in general (including the two Commodores she owns with her husband), her pet parrots (Harri, a Galah, & Peach, a Galah x Corella), watching all kinds of sports on TV, going to the gym, planning her first overseas trip and photography.Michelle is enjoying being in a new environment and learning new areas of taxation.

Matt Fabbro

BBus CPA – Accountant

Matt completed his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree at the Central Queensland University in 2003. He has worked for medium-sized accounting firms in Rockhampton, Gold Coast and Brisbane before commencing employment with A M Giles & Co during July 2009.Matt completed his professional studies with the CPA Program in 2009.Matt’s interests include share trading and anything investment related.

Shari Broughton

LLB BBus – Accountant

Shari completed her Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and Bachelor of Laws double degree at the Queensland University of Technology in 2009. She previously worked for a medium-sized accounting firm in Brisbane for seven years before commencing with A M Giles & Co in February 2011.Commencing her professional studies with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia in 2010, Shari intends being fully qualified by mid 2012.Shari’s interests outside of work include dancing, cheerleading for the Brisbane Broncos, going out with friends and spending time with her family and pets (her cocoa pup Ned and her bird Cookie).

Michelle Ward -

Personal Assistant/Office Manager

Michelle joined A M Giles & Co during February 2008 as receptionist after completing her Diploma of Commerce from the Queensland Institute of Business and Technology (QIBT).Michelle progressed to her current role of office manager in January 2009.Having caught the travel bug early in life, Michelle is currently saving for her next trip to Europe.Michelle enjoys a morning cup of tea or coffee, extravagant shopping and spending time with family and friends.

Brianna Merkel -

Receptionist

Brianna joined the team at A.M Giles and Co as receptionist/office assistant in January 2011. Deferring university mid last year, Brianna decided to join the work force on a full time basis. She wishes to continue with her studies on a part-time basis in the near future, and one day become a fully qualified accountant. Brianna enjoys spending time relaxing at the beach, reading, and shopping. Brianna plans to travel the world and fulfill her dream to work and live somewhere in Europe.
